PIGGING SYSTEM FOR PRODUCT RECOVERY

G-RECO is the system developed by Granzotto for the recovery of the residual liquid product in the pipes of an industrial plant. Granzotto designs and manufactures G-RECO systems tailored to its customers, paying particular attention to the characteristics of the plant and the product to be recovered. G-RECO systems exploit the pigging technique, which involves the use of a mobile device (pig) which, by sliding inside the pipe, allows the recovery of very high percentages of the residual product.

G-RECO systems include Pig launch and arrival stations, piping, valves, PLCs and all functional components for the recovery of liquids in an industrial plant. The components are carefully selected in the design phase and the systems are designed to make integration into the main plant as simple and quick as possible.

The many advantages deriving from the use of G-RECO systems translate overall into an improvement in the efficiency of the production process and a reduction in costs, ultimately leading to an increase in operating margins and profits. Nonetheless, thanks to the reduction of product waste and the lower use of detergents, the use of G-RECO systems is an excellent solution for improving the environmental sustainability of the production process.

The G-RECO system is designed in collaboration with the customer and based on their needs, analysing the properties of the liquid to be recovered and the characteristics of the destination plant. A G-RECO construction project is divided into the following phases:

1. Analysis of the chemical-physical and rheological properties of the product (e.g. density, viscosity, etc.)

2. Analysis of regulatory constraints (e.g. food/chemical sector, environmental requirements, ATEX directives, etc.)

3. Analysis of the plant layout (e.g. distances, curves, obstacles, equipments, etc.)

4. Design and sizing of the G-RECO system

5. Start-up and commissioning of the G-RECO system
